Full Sail Brewers Share 'Extra Special Barney' Release
Uptown Market, 6620 SW Scholls Ferry Road, Beaverton
4:00 PM

I wanted to let you know about a special event, benefiting Columbia Gorge Arts in Education, happening next Thursday, Jan 5th . Full Sail Brewery is starting off 2012 with their new Brewer’s Share Series and Uptown Market is hosting the Portland kickoff party.

Beginning at 4:00 pm we’ll tap of the first cask of Full Sail’s new “Extra Special Barney” (ESB) and will continue into the evening with tastings of both ESB and Wreck the Halls. ESB was developed by Brewing Supervisor Barney Brennan. According to Brennan, this beer is a traditional English style ale, is brewed with attention to balance, highlighting both malt and hops. Five different malt varieties give the beer its orange hue, and caramel complexities. Full Sail will be onsite all night to answer any questions.

As part of the Brewer’s Share Series, Full Sail will donate a portion of its proceeds from each bottle sold to a charity of the brewer’s choice; in this case Columbia Arts Education. During the event on the 5th, Uptown Market will match Full Sail’s contribution on every bottle sold in the store. Columbia Gorge Arts in Education provides visual, literary, and performing arts opportunities to local K-12 students. Through artist residencies in schools, workshops, after school programs, community art projects and installations, programs for at-risk youth, and cultural performances, Columbia Gorge Arts in Education served 6,000 kids last year in the Mid-Columbia region.
